The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.
Working at Cypremort Point State Park, and serving as Park Manager over this beautiful site, would be a dream for anyone who loves the outdoors, building their local community, and showcasing Louisiana to tourists from around the world. Between Grand Isle and Cameron, Cypremort Point is one of the very few locations near the Gulf of Mexico that can be reached by car. A half-mile stretch of a man-made beach provides a delightful area for relaxing, picnicking and enjoying the water. It also affords an opportunity for fishing, crabbing, water skiing, windsurfing and, of course, sailing. Minimum Qualifications

Four years of experience in the operation, administration, or maintenance of parks, outdoor recreation, or historic sites; or in parks or conservation work; OR
Four years of experience in law enforcement, interpretive services, mobile equipment operation, building construction or maintenance.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Oversees daily operations and long-term maintenance of park facilities, including regular inspections, coordination of major repairs or construction with Resource Development staff, and collaboration with internal departments, contractors, and law enforcement to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance.
Manages site programming and community engagement, approving and promoting events, working with neighborhood groups and civic organizations, and serving as a liaison to external agencies on matters impacting the site.
Develops and administers the site budget, manages expenditures, prepares fiscal and revenue reports, and ensures accurate collection and deposit of all fees from site usage.
Coordinates and supervises staff activities, including assigning work, setting priorities, evaluating performance through the Departmental PES system, and identifying training and development needs.
Prepares detailed project plans and documentation, including specifications, cost estimates, and contracts for programs, facility improvements, and equipment procurement.

Location: Cypremort Point State Park, in Cypremort Point, LA
Work Schedule: State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, that can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.
Travel: Position requires driving around the park as part of daily shift. Travel may be required to other state parks to assist in staffing or events, as needed. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.How to Apply:
