In this role, you will:- Provide essential support to the accounting department assisting in both the accounts payable and accounts receivable sections.

Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Providing support to the accountants by preforming a range of bookkeeping and administrative task such as preparing financial reports, processing invoices, assisting with accounts payable and receivable and reconciling accounts.
Prison Enterprises is an ancillary “Enterprise Fund”, operating entirely on a self-generated revenue with a staff of approximately 67, operating over 30 individual cost centers at 7 correctional facilities across this State, along with a Headquarters location in Baton Rouge. This position is vital in providing essential support to the accounting department.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: PROBATION, or Promotion of a permanent, classified Louisiana State EMPLOYEE
- Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $18.90 per hour.
- Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career and NOT the amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
