The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.The purpose of this position is to primarily perform custodial duties to help maintain cleanliness and a safe environment for the customers. This includes all rental facilities, bathhouses, meeting rooms, etc.. This position will also assist in minor preventative maintenance of the buildings, assist in minor grounds keeping such as mowing and trail maintenance, and assist customers.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Performs custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of park facilities.
Assists with maintaining park grounds such as mowing grass, collecting litter, removing limbs and debris, and emptying trash receptacles.
Clean bathroom facilities, cabins, meeting rooms, etc.
Stocks buildings with necessary cleaning supplies and household items.
Provides a high level of customer service and assists customers with inquiries.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: Fontainebleau State Park, in Mandeville, LA
Work Schedule: State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, that can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Park Technician A, B, or C. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled based on the qualifications of the selected applicant. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.
