Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Operates various heavy equipment, as needed:
- This position is in the Striping Shop. The task of the shop includes but not limited to is to: marking the lines on the roadway and installation of legends, symbols, other roadway markings and raised pavement markers. You may also be assigned other duties as required, outside of the striping shop.
May include shoveling asphalt, digging footings for setting concrete forms, placing traffic control devices, flagging of traffic thru work zones, closing roads as needed, delivering, loading and unloading materials and/or equipment, paving operations, milling, placing large culverts, operating power and/or hand tools, etc.
May perform incidental repair and construction tasks such as installation of guardrail, fencing, pipe, catch basins, and drainage structures. Keeps records as required by supervisor, which may include, petty cash tickets, requisitions, inventory, daily work reports, etc.
May train and/or assist in training lower-level operators or laborers. May be required to perform a wide variety of assigned duties and tasks necessary to accomplish the overall mission of the unit or section.
Shall be responsible to respond to callouts after normal working hours, in all types of weather conditions, such as removing falling trees from the roadway, applying deicing materials, responding to traffic accidents, and draining water from the roadway.

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Mobile Equipment Operator 1, 2 or 1/Heavy.
Compensation: The Mobile Equipment Operator 1 and 2 positions are both eligible for premium pay of up to $1.00 per hour.How To Apply:
