About this Job

The Department of Justice, Office of Attorney General Liz Murrill, is seeking applications for an Accountant Technician in the Administrative Services Division. Salary offered will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required;
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping;
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar);
  • Strong Microsoft skills;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Job Specification

Examples of Work:

The position of an Accountant Technician in the Administrative Division may consist of, but is not limited to, the following duties:

  • Process financial transactions including accounts payable and accounts receivable;
  • Reconcile accounts, identify variances, and assist with monthly closing activities;
  • Input, audit, and verify accounting data in financial systems;
  • Maintain spreadsheets, ledgers, and other financial documentation;
  • Assist in budget preparation and expenditure monitoring;
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable financial regulations;
  • Verify accuracy of financial documents and entries;
  • Support audits and other financial reviews as needed;
  • Perform data entry and maintain filing systems for financial documentation;
  • Any other additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
