We are recruiting to fill two (2) temporary, exempt from civil service positions with the Department of Human Resources Development.
Positions are located in the Employee Staffing Division in the State of Hawai‘i Department of Human Resources Development in DOWNTOWN, OAHU.
The Employee Staffing Division is responsible for recruiting and retaining "the best and brightest" employees, so the State government can deliver efficient and effective services to the public.
Salary: $4,221 to $5,133 monthly, commensurate with training and experience.

- This position is assigned to the Department of Human Resources Development, Employee Staffing Division, Recruitment Branch. This position provides technical assistance to human resources specialists in performing examination research and development, screening applications for employment, and providing other services in support of the recruitment/examination program.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK REQUIREMENT: The State of Hawai‘i requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:General Experience: One year of progressively responsible general office and clerical experience.Specialized Experience: Four years of experience in an office where the work required the knowledge and application of pertinent personnel rules, regulations, procedures and program requirements.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Knowledge and experience in civil service recruitment and/or assessment work which included evaluating civil service applications to determine whether minimum qualification and other public employment requirements are met; knowledge of and proficiency in critical thinking or analytical ability to properly assimilate major work tasks and suggest improvements to the current methodology. This type of ability is usually evidenced by possession of a baccalaureate degree; thorough and comprehensive knowledge of supplementary manuals and instructions, policy statements and precedent cases; and, knowledge of the organization served and the needs of the organization.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Have a high degree of communication skills, integrity, initiative, judgment, tact, and patience; ability to give accurate and complete information to all prospective applicants for State civil service positions through advisory and consultative services; ability to compose clear, organized, and comprehensive written material suitable for the intended target audience(s); strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work assignments; ability to utilize a computer to do word processing and create appropriate recordkeeping files; read and interpret written manual; meet and deal effectively with the public and others under different circumstances, including pressure situations where information must be provided rapidly and accurately; be physically able to perform efficiently the duties of the position; familiar with the State's Personnel rules and regulations, policies and procedures related to staffing, which include application and employment procedures, and departmental policies and procedures; have knowledge of a variety of jobs and their requirement, sources of job information, and merit system principles; and, ability to perform simple mathematical calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and calculate descriptive statistics (e.g. mean scores) relating to examinations.QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Possession of the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for a position.
