Job Description and Duties
Under general supervision of the Supervising Program Technician III, the Program Technician (PT) III in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Response Unit of the Applicant Services Program analyzes and processes FBI applicant returns that result in an out-of-state criminal history record. The PT III must have a thorough knowledge of the various California statutes and court orders which govern the dissemination of criminal history record information for applicant purposes and be able to make decisions regarding dissemination using these guidelines. The PT III must be able to recognize terminology and the legislative intent as it relates to other states laws. The PT III analyzes arrest disposition data to determine whether it conforms to California statute and court orders and adds the disposition information to the record and disseminates it to authorized client agencies. The PT III routinely contacts law enforcement agencies by telephone for clarification of information and searches various databases via the Internet to obtain disposition information.
This position works with sensitive/confidential information and materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
This position is located in Rancho Cordova, California.

Working Conditions
This position is eligible for telework, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Additional Salary Information
Please note that all new to state employees will be given the minimum salary of the classification. For current state employees and/or those with reinstatement rights, your salary will be determined in accordance with the applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
