Job Description and Duties
The TEMP/PEO Unit is seeking a detail-oriented Workers’ Compensation Insurance Technician (WCIT) to support the underwriting and servicing of Temporary Staffing and Professional Employer Organization (PEO) accounts. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and compliant processing of new business, renewals, and servicing requests, while providing professional and timely customer service. Workers’ compensation insurance experience is strongly preferred. This position can only be filled in the following State Fund locations: Glendale, Pasadena, Pleasanton, Sacramento, or Vacaville.
Key Responsibilities
- Support intake, review, and processing of TEMP/PEO new business and renewal submissions.
- Maintain workflow accuracy through monitoring designated inboxes and logs.
- Assist Underwriters by ensuring complete, compliant submissions and timely handling of servicing requests.
- Provide professional communication and customer support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Uphold data quality and regulatory compliance in all work performed.

Special Requirements
Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee’s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.
