Job Description and Duties
Under general direction of the Supervising Engineer, Water Resources, performs a variety of engineering assignments in the field and office in connection with construction contract administration, construction management, engineering, and inspection to ensure that construction contracts managed by Oroville Project Headquarters (OPH) for the State Water Project and other assigned facilities are completed on schedule and in accordance with plans and specifications. Experience with field work performing quality control, and construction management such as reviewing plans and specifications, requests for information (RFI’s), and submittals. Bidding experience such as Estimating, and experience with schedules is also preferred.

Special Requirements
Must possess a valid California driver's license when conducting State business that requires driving a vehicle. May be required to travel on public roadways including traveling to remote areas. Travel on short notice and overnight lodging will be required on some trips.
The position also requires that the incumbent be alert around the operation of construction equipment, and be able to perform safely in and around construction sites.
Must possess a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

Desirable Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who have experience with construction management and contract administration; have technical civil engineering knowledge of pipelines, pumping plants, reservoirs, dams and other water conveyance structures and buildings. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to utilize word processing and spreadsheet software such as MS Office and Adobe products, with additional experience with Drafting, CAD, Scheduling, or contract coordination software. Experience in the field is also preferred. We are looking for candidates who have strong written and verbal communication skills, can take independent action, pay close attention to detail, work in a team environment, and have excellent organization skills.
