The Department of Toxic Substances Control(DTSC) is recruiting an Office Technician (OT) for the Office of Administrative Services (OAS). The position is located at 1001 I Street, 21st floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.
Under Deputy Director direction and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the Department of Toxic Substances strategic plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments. Specific responsibilities can be reviewed in the Duty Statement attached.
As an Office Technician (General) you will have the opportunity to:
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors to DTSC’s HR Office; screen and respond to telephone calls
- Conduct general research and respond to general inquiries
- Create, maintain, and update excel spreadsheets or other tracking logs used

Working Conditions
Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
