Under the general supervision of the Supervisor I (Licensing Manager) of the Dental Hygiene Board of California (DHBC), the Office Technician (Typing) OT (T) is responsible for reception, cashiering, and maintaining accurate records and data for the Board.
The OT (T) must be able to type a minimum of 40 WPM (words per minute) from ordinary manuscript or printed or typewritten material.

Working Conditions
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.
Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.
The position requires the incumbent to work in-office, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM in a climate-controlled suite. The incumbent works in an office with artificial light and temperature control. The ability to use a computer is essential.
The DHBC Headquarters is located near the Arden Fair Mall and the Royal Oaks Light Rail Station. Our office features a secure building with on-site and provides plenty of FREE PARKING for employees.

Department Information
The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) protects and serves California consumers while ensuring a competent and fair marketplace. DCA educates consumers and protects professionals from unfair competition by unlicensed practitioners.
DCA is a unique and dynamic department consisting of 36 different boards, bureaus, a commission, and a program that license and regulate more than 3.4 million licensees in more than 280 license types including certificates, registrations, and permits. The Dental Hygiene Board of California (DHBC) is under the oversight of the Department of Consumer Affairs and is the only stand-alone dental hygiene governing body in the United States whose primary function is consumer protection. The DHBC is looking for a motivated, efficient, knowledgeable, and reliable individual to review and analyze complaints received by the Board and issues citations to those dental hygienist who have violated the Dental Practice Act. The DHBC oversees over 37,000 dental hygiene licensees and has programs in licensing, enforcement, dental hygiene education programs, and administration.
