The incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting. The work setting is primarily open space with modular furnishing in a climate-controlled office. Employee may be required to work in close proximity to traffic as part of site or activity reviews. Employee may be involved in meetings and discussions with other agencies and/or parties, which may be less than amicable. The use of a laptop is essential. Travel to the districts and off-site meetings will subject the incumbent to the typical rigors of air, auto and transit travel and overnight hotel stays.

Special Requirements
- This position require(s) a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers for appointment.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License.
The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) serves as documentation of each applicant’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. Please follow the instructions below; failure to include and complete the SOQ as instructed may result in the SOQ not being considered and in disqualification from the interview. Each question must be numbered and addressed in the same order as the questions below. The SOQ must be typed, no more than two pages in length, and 12-point Arial font.
- Explain your experience in policy development and implementation, preparing technical reports and presentations, experience in contracts, and conducting training.
- Describe your experience with software tools necessary for analysis and presentation of complex transportation data, such as advanced spreadsheet functions, database systems, Geographic Information Systems, Tableau, dashboards, or other analytical tools.
- Explain your experience working with and developing collaboration/communication between Caltrans executive management, other Caltrans divisions and districts, public, and external agencies.
