Job Description and Duties
SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – SANTA CRUZ DISTRICT / ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES / HENRY COWELL REDWOODS STATE PARK
“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. The reporting location for this position is at the Santa Cruz District Office in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Felton. This position will work under the direction of the Front Office Lead/or Supervisor II.
We are looking for an incumbent who is comfortable being a self- starter, possesses good prioritizing and communication skills, and would be comfortable working in a fast-paced office setting while working well as part of a team.
The Senior Park Aide will provide basic front office clerical duties. The incumbent will provide service to the public by answering and fielding visitor questions, selling park passes to the public, process and deposit payments, create report of collections, receive and process overnight and U.S. mail, create administrative electronic files, file accountable documents, and order basic office supplies. This position will also support district accounting, personnel, and contract programs. This support may include pulling reports, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, filing, creations of files, and providing data entry assistance.
This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)
