Job Description and Duties

The California Department of Justice seeks to hire a Legal Tech Trainee (Office Technician – Typist) to join a "POD" of legal support personnel to support attorneys in the Correctional Law and Antitrust Sections. Supervised by the POD Legal Support Manager (Supervisor I), the Legal Tech Trainee will perform a variety of clerical tasks for the POD. The Legal Tech Trainee should have experience with programs and software to proficiently type, edit, store, retrieve, print and process documents. Key responsibilities include typing and editing correspondence; assisting with travel arrangements and expense claims; administrative tasks such as processing and tracking invoices, service authorizations, and Revolving Fund requests; preparing closed files by boxing and preparing labels for delivery to the Docketing Unit; assisting with trial prep such as labeling exhibits and binder prep; and other clerical tasks.
