Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Supervising Transportation Engineer of the Office of Construction Engineering Management, the Senior Transportation Engineer, the Contract Change Order (CCO) Desk Engineer, reviews, processes, and recommends approval for all CCOs Memoranda and CCOs submitted by Resident Engineers and checks for accuracy and completeness and ensures compliance with CCO policies, procedures, and directives, as described in the Construction Manual and District 7 CCO Manual.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the SENIOR TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER, CALTRANS exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
