Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

This Limited Term position may be extended to 24 months and may become Permanent.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking an accomplished and dynamic executive to serve as Assistant Division Chief / Program Manager within our Field Operations Division (FOD). This pivotal leadership role helps shape and implement statewide policies and programs that directly impact millions of Californians every year.

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Director, the Assistant Division Chief will lead the Policy Services and Program Branch, a diverse and highly visible team headquartered on the DMV campus in Sacramento. This branch oversees the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of some of the DMV’s most essential services, including:

  • Commercial Driver’s License Program
  • Industry Business Centers
  • Driver’s License Program
  • Vehicle Registration Program
  • Virtual Field Office
  • Customer Service Technology initiatives across FOD field locations
