Job Description and Duties
PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I – SONOMA MENDOCINO COAST DISTRICT / MENDOCINO SECTOR / RUSSIAN GULCH STATE PARK
This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
The reporting location for this position is Russian Gulch State Park. Under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Chief I, the Park Maintenance Worker I will perform skilled and semiskilled structural and facility maintenance and repair work throughout the Sector on a wide variety of park facilities, including buildings, systems, grounds, roads and trails; estimates and purchases materials and supplies; keeps tools and equipment in good condition; keeps records and prepares reports as required. The incumbent may lead and train a crew of maintenance employees. The schedule for this position is Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
