Job Description and Duties

PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER II – GOLD FIELDS DISTRICT / FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT / EL DORADO COUNTY

This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.

The reporting location for this position is the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park (SHP) in Coloma, CA. This position will work under the general direction of the Park Maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for the construction, maintenance and housekeeping functions of park buildings, roads, facilities and structures. The Park Maintenance Worker II will lead and direct outside agency crews, volunteers, permanent and seasonal staff in the repair and maintenance of park facilities. The incumbent should possess strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as journey level skills in carpentry, plumbing , electrical and masonry. This position will act as lead for Marshall Gold SHP and will assist with all other maintenance functions of the sector as needed. This position will require the incumbent to work in all types of inclement weather with temperatures ranging from low thirties to the mid-to-high one hundreds.
Skills in project planning and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) / National Environment Policy Act (NEPA) are desired. Ability to work in a high functioning team environment is essential.
Work shift will be Monday to Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.
