Job Description and Duties

PARK MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – INLAND EMPIRE DISTRICT / MOUNT SAN JACINTO STATE PARK (RIVERSIDE COUNTY)

This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.

The reporting location for this position is Mount San Jacinto State Park. This position will work under the direction of the Park Maintenance Chief II. This is a very diverse assignment full of challenges including maintaining, improving and repairing numerous facilities including trails, picnic sites, camp sites, and other infastructures. We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, dependable, and dedicated person to become a member of our crew. The incumbent will be responsible for all facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks throughout the Sector. The incumbents work schedule will be Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered. This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962.
