PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER II – GOLD FIELDS DISTRICT / FOLSOM LAKE STATE RECREATION AREA / SACRAMENTO COUNTY
This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
The reporting location for this position is the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area (SRA) located in Folsom, Ca. This position works under the direct supervision of the Park Maintenance Chief I.This position is responsible for the construction, maintenance and housekeeping functions of park buildings, roads, systems and structures. The Park Maintenance Worker II will lead and direct outside agencies, volunteers, inmates and other permanent and seasonal staff in the repair and maintenance of park facilities. The incumbent should possess strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as journey level skills in carpentry, plumbing and electrical. This position will act as lead for the sector trails crew and servicing of State-owned chemical toilets, vaults and septic tanks located throughout the Sector and District. Incumbent must be comfortable working in confined spaces and working with or around hazardous materials. This position will require the incumbent to work in all types of inclement weather with temperatures ranging from low thirties to the mid-to-high one hundreds. The park terrain consists of steep canyons with thick forest and underbrush that includes poison oak. Some trails are underdeveloped and have sharp drop-offs. Ticks and rattlesnakes are often seen in the canyon. This position will have responsibility for the Sector's purchasing and procurement and should be familiar with the Department’s current purchasing policies and database systems. Knowledge of project planning, expenditure tracking, and effective teamwork is desirable. This position may work holidays and weekends. The incumbent’s work schedule will be Monday through Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
