Job Description and Duties
Join the Sacramento Business Operations Service Center as the next Business Operations Service Center Representative! As part of the Service Center Business Operations team, you will be an integral part of accomplishing Covered California’s mission and main goals.
How You’ll Make an Impact –
As the Bilingual Business Operations Service Center Representative, you will be responsible for directly assisting consumers with enrollment into health coverage. You will be able to gain experience working with various information systems, as well as improve upon existing Microsoft Office skills. Bilingual Positions: Must be fluent in the following language to be appointed to this position - Spanish.
- Call Center Pay Differential: If selected, incumbents will be compensated an additional $150 per month.
- Bilingual Pay Differential: If selected, incumbents will have to pass a fluency exam. Once passed, incumbents will be compensated an additional $200 per month.
This position’s office headquarters location is designated in Sacramento County. Travel expenses associated with commuting to the employee’s office headquarters location are not reimbursable, other than authorized transit subsidies.

Working Conditions
- This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Covered California’s current telework policy. While Covered California supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.
- Employees are no longer required to submit Covered California’s Self-Screening Questionnaire prior to coming onsite. Additionally, the State of California COVID-19 Testing Program requirements, along with COVID-19 vaccination verification are no longer needed. Covered California’s COVID-19 Prevention Plan has been updated to incorporate the revised CDPH Public Health Officer Orders.

Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with reviewing, processing and handling the inputting of data into systems or forms.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks efficiently to meet strict deadlines.
- Well-developed communication skills both verbal and written.
- Experience interpreting; laws, regulations, policy and procedures preferably in public health and health care industry services or programs.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain organization of work.
- Moderate knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
