California's Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) Program was initiated in 2013 to establish a comprehensive statewide EEW system. This effort is a collaboration among several stakeholders, including the California Geological Survey, the University of California, Berkeley, the California Institute of Technology, and the U.S. Geological Survey. This position directly supports a system that aims to protect lives and property throughout the state.

Working Conditions
Hybrid Telework: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.
DMV Pull Program: Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver’s License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
Conflict of Interest (COI): This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

The Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) Division is charged with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the California Earthquake Early Warning System (CEEWS). California’s EEW Program began in 2013 to implement a comprehensive state-wide EEW system in collaboration with stakeholders. The California EEW Program has realized a statewide system that provides critical seconds of warning prior to the strong shaking of an earthquake.
