Job Description and Duties
The Department of State Hospitals - Napa currently has a full-time, permanent vacancy for an Office Technician (Typing). This position will report to the HRT II (supervisor) or HRT III. Duties include assignments such as correspondence, reports, forms, minutes, preparation and maintenance of various records and filing systems; characteristics include punctuality, good attendance, positive attitude, good verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, customer oriented and ability to be cross trained on multiple desks. A typing certificate is required for this Office Technician (OT) position. This position requires the ability to type at a minimum speed for 40 words per minute. You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the 40 words per minute typing speed prior to being hired. State departments will honor typing certificates issued within the last four years and certified from a five (5) minute typing test that meets the CalHR requirements, with a minimum of 40 WPM (words per minute). Please attach with your application a typing certificate issued within the last four years that certifies your ability to type at a speed of 40 WPM. Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres.
