***This is a Peace Officer Position. To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer.

If you are not a current peace officer and in possession of a POST – Academy, Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Certificate, you are not eligible for this position.

STATE PARK SUPERINTENDENT III/ OCOTILLO WELLS DISTRICT/ OCOTILLO WELLS SVRA

The reporting location for this position is the Ocotillo Wells District, located at 5172 Highway 78 #10, Borrego Springs, CA 92004. The State Park Superintendent III position works under the direction of the District Superintendent. This position is responsible for the management of the District’s Public Safety and Law Enforcement program, including Public Safety Information (media liaison), Field Training Program, SEMS- Incident Command, Public Safety Telecommunications Program, Parking Notice Program, Evidence Custodian, Peace Officer training and POST compliance, DMV Pull Notice and DOJ Fingerprint Program, liaison with law enforcement agencies of concurrent jurisdiction and local District Attorney’s Office. This position will provide support and guidance to the peace officer staff and the Public Safety Superintendent of the Ocotillo Wells District.
State housing may be required. *Special Requirement/Condition of Employment: Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs, or may be offered state-owned housing if available. Housing assignments will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.
