***This is a Peace Officer Position. To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer.
If you are not a current peace officer and in possession of a POST – Academy, Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Certificate, you are not eligible for this position.

STATE PARK PEACE OFFICER SUPERVISOR I (LIFEGUARD) – CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / RANCHO SAN LUIS SECTOR / SAN LUIS RESERVOIR STATE RECREATION AREA
The reporting location for this position is San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area in Gustine, CA. This position will work under the general supervision of State Park Superintendent III.
The State Park Peace Officer Supervisor I (Lifeguard) may be required to work other areas of the sector and district as assigned by the State Park Superintendent III. The State Park Peace Officer Supervisor I (Lifeguard) is responsible for the visitor services, public safety and law enforcement and aquatic functions of Dos Rios Ranch (Proposed new State Park). The State Park Peace Officer Supervisor I (Lifeguard) will also assist with supervision of all river park units, including, Caswell Memorial State Park, George Hatfield State Recreation Area, McConnell State Recreation Area, and Great Valley Grasslands. The State Park Peace Officer Supervisor I (Lifeguard) serves as a working supervisor responsible to ensure efficient, effective and comprehensive visitor services operations while performing safety and enforcement, patrol, interpretation, resource protection/management, aquatic program oversight and effective visitor facility operation.
Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
