Job Description and Duties

SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – DIABLO RANGE DISTRICT / DELTA SECTOR

“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).”


The reporting location for this position is Brannan Island State Recreation Area, 17645 CA-160, Rio Vista, CA 94571, with travel to other work locations, including Locke Boarding House and the Delta Meadows property, both in Locke. This position works under the direction of the Staff Park and Recreation Specialist.

This position will collaborate on interpretation, visitor services, and related work at State Park properties in the Delta and will involve working with a variety of team members and stakeholders on designing and launching new programs, walks, and materials for all three Delta properties, assisting with the Delta Meadows Classification and General Plan process, and working with our cultural resources program on incorporating local tribal voices and tribal ecological knowledge into interpretive materials for the area. The Diablo Range District is looking for a creative and passionate individual to fill the Senior Park Aide position in the Delta Sector. The Senior Park Aide is expected to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings if necessary. Assigned days off may be on weekdays and may vary from month to month. This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible. Occasional travel may be required to assist other park units or for in town school programs and community outreach. Must be willing to operate off-highway vehicles. The park aide will perform their duties dressed in an approved State Park uniform.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)
