Job Description and Duties

AQUATIC PEST CONTROL TECHNICIAN – DIVISION OF BOATING & WATERWAYS / AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES BRANCH / STOCKTON FIELD OFFICE

The reporting location for this position is located at 4980 Buckley Cove Way in Stockton. This position will work under the close supervision of the Aquatic Pest Control Assistant Program Manager.

If you are, look no further than the Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW). As part of the California Natural Resources Agency and the Department of Parks and Recreation, DBW is a self-funded division dedicated to bringing together a body of knowledge as the state's expert in recreational boating-related matters, including public access, safety and education, marine law enforcement, and consumer and environmental protection. DBW's Aquatic Invasive Plant Control Program (AIPCP) strives to ensure that invasive aquatic plants in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta are managed to reduce the threat to economy, public health, and environment. DBW's Aquatic Invasive Plant Control Program is recruiting an Aquatic Pest Control Technician to directly assist with aquatic vegetation management under the lead direction of the Aquatic Pest Control Specialist while onboard a vessel or use of ground spray rig.

The incumbent’s work schedule will be Monday to Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Will obtain a California Boater Card within 60 days of employment with employer's assistance.

This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
