Job Description and Duties

PARK AND RECREATION SPECIALIST (PERMANENT-INTERMITTENT) / ORANGE COAST DISTRICT / COASTAL DIVISION / HUNTINGTON STATE BEACH

The reporting location for this position is Huntington State Beach, which is located at 21601 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach, CA 92646. This position works under the supervision of the Staff Park and Recreation Specialist.

The Park and Recreation Specialist will perform program development, training, evaluation, analytical, and administrative duties to support the District Junior Lifeguard Program and off season youth programs. The Orange Coast District Junior Lifeguard Program is an innovative and busy program with over 2,000 children in the five Junior Lifeguard programs located within Orange Coast District. Excellent analytical, verbal, and written skills are imperative to having success in this position.

This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.
