Job Description and Duties
STATE PARK INTERPRETER I (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) – SANTA CRUZ DISTRICT / INTERPRETIVE AND EDUCATION PROGRAM / HENRY COWELL REDWOODS SP
The reporting location for this position is Henry Cowell Redwoods SP in Felton, CA. This position will work under the direction of State Park Interpreter III.
The State Park Interpreter I is responsible for coordinating both natural and cultural resource interpretive programs and the operation of interpretive facilities at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. Volunteer coordination, hosting and maintaining visitor centers, conducting and developing interpretive programs, coordinating tour reservations system, special events, and the volunteer program are duties of this position. This position prepares content for media channels regarding park updates, volunteer recruitment, interpretive education and activities and special events.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Occasional travel may be required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.
This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
