Job Description and Duties
PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – FACILITIES AND DEVELOPMENT DIVISION / DISTRICT FACILITIES MANAGEMENT / McCLELLAN
The reporting location for this position is 4940 Lang Ave., in McClellan, CA. This position will work under the supervision of Park Maintenance Chief II.
The Park Maintenance Supervisor (PMS) will provide daily support to both permanent intermittent and seasonal staff, California Conservation Corp (CCC), American Conservation Experience (ACE) and other Youth Corps crews in project implementation that includes; trail and road construction, maintenance and resource activities. Work will include heavy manual labor, extensive walking to and from work sites, hot summer temperatures, cold winter conditions including work in rain and snow conditions, and work in high altitude, desert and coastal environments and will frequently work from remote locations to efficiently complete task assignments.This position requires working nights, weekends, and odd hours and overtime in accomplishment of assigned tasks. This position will spike camp at work sites throughout the state. Normal work schedule is Wednesday through Wednesday 7:00 to 5:30 with six days off between Wednesday to Wednesday, eight day working shifts. Remote work locations, 8- or 10-day work assignments, overnight travel and spike camps are expected.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Possession of a valid Class B driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
This position will be subject to the Federal Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
Extensive travel may be required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.
Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
