SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – DIABLO RANGE DISTRICT / ALTAMONT SECTOR
“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).”
The Park Aide reporting location is at the Carnegie SVRA kiosk at 18600 West Corral Hollow Road Tracy CA 95376. The Senior Park Aide is supervised by the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor but takes daily direction from the State Park Peace Officer (Ranger) assigned as the leadsperson.
The Senior Park Aide is expected to work weekends, holidays, and evenings if necessary, and assigned days off may vary from month to month. The Senior Park Aide will perform duties dressed in full State Park uniform.
This position’s main responsibility is to lead and be the primary contact for the department’s reservation and revenue system (R2S2) in addition to operating the entrance station and provide information about recreational opportunities, calendar of events, park conditions, closures, trails, and rules and regulations pertaining to the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) program. They will greet visitors, collect use-fees, work in the kiosk operating a cash register and credit card machine, and perform additional kiosk, administration, equipment maintenance, and housekeeping duties as needed.
This position can work 189 days in a 12 consecutive month period or a maximum of 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months per California Code of Regulation 265.1. This position is designated as not telework eligible Typical work hours will be Monday through Sunday, 10-hours shifts ranging from 7am to 10pm.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)
