Job Description and Duties

PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I – SONOMA MENDOCINO COAST DISTRICT / RUSSIAN RIVER SECTOR / SONOMA COAST STATE PARK

Post & Bid: This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.

The Park Maintenance Worker I (PMWI), works under the direct supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor. The reporting location is the Sonoma Coast State Park located in Bodega Bay, California.

The Park Maintenance Worker I will perform skilled and semiskilled structural and facility maintenance and repair work throughout the sector on a wide variety of park facilities, including buildings, systems, grounds, roads, and trails; estimates and purchases materials and supplies; keeps tools and equipment in good condition; keeps records and prepares reports as required. The incumbent may lead and train a crew of maintenance employees.

The incumbents schedule will be Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
