STATE PARK PEACE OFFICER SUPERVISOR (RANGER) – DIABLO RANGE DISTRICT / GAVILAN SECTOR / SAN JUAN BAUTISTA STATE HISTORIC PARK
The reporting location for this position is San Juan Bautista State Historic Park in San Juan Bautista, CA. This position will work under the general supervision of the Senior Park and Recreation Specialist.
The State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (Ranger) performs patrol, public safety and law enforcement, and visitor services duties required to provide a safe, efficient, and enjoyable visitor experience within the Diablo Range District. This is a dynamic State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (Ranger) position with opportunities in all core programs. The incumbent will be responsible for all general Ranger duties including public safety and enforcement, working with seasonal employees, interpretation, day use operations, cultural and natural resource management, volunteers, special events and filming. If you are a creative, energetic, and resourceful individual who is willing to take on a variety of challenges of a growing district with a positive, cohesive team, this is the position for you.
The work schedule for this position will be Wednesday to Saturday.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to appointment.
Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
