STATE PARK INTERPRETER I (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) – CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / INTERPRETATION & EDUCATION / COLUMBIA STATE HISTORIC PARK
The reporting location for this position is Columbia state Historic Park in Columbia, CA. This position will work under the direction of State Park Interpreter III.
The State Park Interpreter I (PI) will provide Gold Rush era cultural interpretation and education programs to K-12 students from across California via distance learning platforms as well as in-person programs. Columbia SHP is a popular location for 4th grade field trips as it is one of the best-preserved Gold Rush towns in California and provides multiple opportunities to connect students to the past as well as support curriculum standards. This position will assist with the implementation of the parks PORTS (Parks Online Resources for Teachers and Students) Program, a popular distance learning opportunity for classrooms. They will also establish and maintain cooperative relations with California’s K-12 education community to enhance digital engagement and in-person school group interpretation opportunities at Columbia State Historic Park.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
