Job Description and Duties

PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I (PERMANENT FULL-TIME) - DIABLO DISTRICT - SAN JUAN BAUTISTA STATE HISTORIC PARK

This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.


The reporting location for this position is Diablo Range District, San Juan Bautista State Historic Park, 19 Franklin St. San Juan Bautista, CA 95045. This position works under the direction of the Gavilan Sector Park Maintenance Chief I.

Housekeeping, groundskeeping, and facilities maintenance are the primary responsibilities of this position. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants a challenge, a chance to use a wide variety of skills and work in a great team atmosphere while maintaining nationally recognized landmarks that are part of California's history. The incumbent may be assgined to work at other park units within the District.
The incumbent’s work schedule will be Monday-Thursday, 7:00am to 5:30pm.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
