STATE PARK INTERPRETER I (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) – CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / RANCHO SAN LUIS SECTOR OR / SAN LUIS RESERVOIR STATE RECREATION AREA

The reporting location for this position is San Luis SRA in Gustine, CA. This position will work under the direction of State Park Peace Officer, Supervisor.

The State Park Interpreter I is responsible for working closely with all of the staff in the sector to accomplish the tasks necessary to operate, protect, interpret and maintain the park units to the highest quality standards. Park units in Rancho San Luis Sector include, Pacheco SP and San Luis Reservoir SRA. Position may also assist with Great Valley Grasslands SP, Caswell Memorial SP, George Hatfield SRA and McConnell SRA as assigned by supervisor. Duties include interpretive program management (outreach, social media, guided walks), volunteer coordination, school group coordination, planning, research and development of interpretive projects and programs for the park.

The position may serve as a lead for seasonal aides, interns and volunteers.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.
