STATE PARK PEACE OFFICER (SUPERVISOR) / LAW ENFORCEMENT & EMERGENCY SERVICES DIVISION / CANNABIS WATERSHED PROTECTION PROGRAM / HEADQUARTERS.
***This is a Peace Officer Position. To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer.

Appointment to the (SET) position to be based on an interview, physical fitness and skills assessment. Skills testing may involve proficiency evaluation or scenarios involving firearms, defensive tactics and first aid. In order to be eligible for this position, candidates must have a minimum of two years’ experience as a DPR State Park Peace Officer (Ranger) or (Lifeguard).
The reporting location for this position is negotiable. Under the general direction of the Special Enforcement Team (SET) Superintendent II.
This position will serve as a State Park Peace Officer Supervisor, with an emphasis on stewardship and operation of state park units with the goal of discouraging and preventing illegal cannabis cultivation, consistent with Revenue and Taxation Code 34019 (f)(2)(b). This position is required to work in rugged outdoor terrain. This position is assigned to the California Department of Justice’s Enforcement and Prevention of Illicit Cannabis (EPIC) program. This position may be assigned to the Unified Cannabis Enforcement Task Force (UCETF). This position is required to work in and around helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. Extensive travel is required for this position. This position is required to assist with other duties within LEESD, but not limited to, academy instruction, in-service training, internal affairs investigations, background investigations, peer support, deployment to natural disasters and other emergencies statewide. Incumbents are required to participate in a bi-annual medical surveillance program. The medical surveillance program monitors employees for potential exposure to insecticides.
