***This is a Peace Officer Position. To be eligible, you must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Department of Human Resources AND either be currently eligible or eligible for reinstatement as a PC 830.2, California State Peace Officer.

If you are not a current peace officer and in possession of a POST – Academy, Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Certificate, you are not eligible for this position.

STATE PARK PEACE OFFICER SUPERVISOR (RANGER) – BAY AREA DISTRICT / MOUNT TAMALPAIS STATE PARK

The reporting location for this position is Mount Tamalpais State Park. This position will work under the general supervision of the State Park Superintendent III.

Under the supervision of the State Park Superintendent III (Chief Ranger), the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (Ranger) is responsible for supervision and coordination of Public Safety and Visitor Services operations at Mount Tamalpais State Park as well as assisting with other parks within the District. The State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (Ranger) will also supervise resource-related public safety operations within China Camp State Park.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

Housing may be required: Special Requirement/Condition of Employment: Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs or may be offered state-owned housing if available. Housing assignments will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.
