Job Description and Duties
PARK MAINTENANCE CHIEF I / SAN DIEGO COAST DISTRICT/ NORTH SECTOR / SAN DIEGO COUNTY
The reporting location for this position is the Maintenance Shop at 12500 N. Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla, CA 92037. This position will work under the direction of the Sector Superintendent.
The incumbent will supervise permanent and seasonal maintenance employees and is responsible for the housekeeping and maintenance functions for Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve (SNR) and Torrey Pines State Beach (SB). The Park Maintenance Chief I is responsible for MAXIMO, Cat I and Temporary Help budgets, work plans, purchasing, and coordinating with various partners. Areas of responsibility include sewer lift stations, beach and day-use facilities, and sensitive habitats.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
This position is designated as NOT Telework Eligible.
