Job Description and Duties

PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR / BAY AREA DISTRICT / SAMUEL P. TAYLOR STATE PARK

The reporting location is Samuel P. Taylor State Park, 8889 Sir Francis Drake, Lagunitas, CA.
The Park Maintenance Supervisor works under the general direction of the District Maintenance Chief (Park Maintenance Chief III (PMC III). Responsibilities include oversight of park permanent maintenance employees and seasonal staff, as well as various other volunteers, advocacy groups and outside persons as necessary. The reporting location for this position is the Samuel P. Taylor State Park shop but may be required to work anywhere within the District. The primary responsibilities for this position are the direct supervision of the facility maintenance and housekeeping operations for Samuel P. Taylor State Park, Olompali State Historic Park, and Tomales Bay State Park. The incumbent's work schedule will be Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

Training and Development assignments may be considered.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962.

This position is currently eligible for a Recruitment and Retention pay differential for the Greater Bay Area. This pay differential is five percent (5%) of the base pay for each qualifying pay period and is in addition to the posted monthly salary range.

Special Requirement/Condition of Employment: Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs, or may be offered state-owned housing if available.
