Engineer/Scientist III – Mining Group
Location: Flexible (Hybrid or 100% Remote, Approved States)
Compensation: $78,000 - $92,000 annually (negotiable based on experience)

Position Summary
Executes a variety of field and office tasks focusing on mining-related hydrogeology, hydrology, geology, and geochemistry, utilizing established methodologies and standard techniques, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Applies problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, while collaborating with team members to support successful project outcomes. Site work at active mining operations and remote field sites to include site monitoring installations, data collection and maintenance; well monitoring; well field design, optimization and implementation; drilling oversight of large diameter wells during drilling, construction development and testing operations; VWP and piezometer design and implementation; and client management of field-based operations. Travel to Nevada and surrounding areas for client-based operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Applies engineering and scientific principles with sound technical judgment and consistent best practices.
- Conducts drilling operations oversight safely; may include geologic logging; well drilling, construction, development and testing; VWP installations and instrumentation in both RC and core borings; water level monitoring; and all associated data compilations and interpretations.
- Works directly with the mining team experts to support ongoing client projects, to develop personal project understanding and the skills necessary for personal development.
- Works diligently in varying conditions to meet client needs and maintains a focus on safety, communicating directly with clients, contractors and PM’s.
- Collects, manages, and analyzes data from public sources, clients, and field investigations; maintains field equipment.
- Assists Project Managers with data reporting, visualization, writing plans/reports, graphics, and regulatory submissions.
- Utilizes relevant engineering and analytical software proficiently.
- Takes personal responsibility for quality and follows company and safety standards; suggests improvements as needed.
- Communicates technical concepts clearly in writing and verbally; identifies issues (“red flags”) and alerts supervisors.
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills and proposes solutions to project leads.
- Understands project scope, monitors deadlines, completes tasks on time, and provides status updates.
- Supports business development by networking locally and providing technical input on proposals.
- Provides onsite team oversight, strives for operational improvements, and prioritizes customer service.
- Understands project budgeting, timekeeping, resource utilization, and maintains professional client interactions as directed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (Master's degree preferred) and/or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience.
- Professional Engineer or Geologist if appropriate.
- Engineering software, Microsoft Suite, Google Earth, Company Software (ERP, CRM, HRM etc.), ArcGIS, AQTESOLV, Strater, CAD and additional programming where applicable.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This role requires frequent travel to outdoor work sites and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, rough terrain, and physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs., prolonged standing, or walking.
