The Job


The office of the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk is recruiting for Title Transfer Technicians II. This class is responsible for assisting subordinates with the most complex title transfers, exclusions, and exemption transactions, as well as with reappraisal calculations. Title Transfer Technicians II review and process complex change in ownerships, determine appropriate action to be taken in order to resolve inconsistencies in transfers, exclusions, and exemptions; and explain title transfer property tax laws, rules, and regulations to the staff and the general public.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License may be required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

Background: Candidates selected for this position must pass a background investigation and medical examination including drug screening; candidates selected for law enforcement departments, public safety positions, or positions where legally required, must pass a more stringent background check.

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Minimum Requirements

CANDIDATES MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING OPTION REQUIREMENTS:
OPTION 1
Must possess two (2) years of full-time equivalent work experience as a Title Transfer Technician in a California County Assessor's office.


OPTION 2
Must possess three (3) years of full-time equivalent work experience interpreting and explaining California Revenue and Taxation Code regarding change in ownership, exclusions, and/or exemptions of real property.
