Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Trauma Program Manager. The Trauma Program Manager (TPM) provides leadership and oversight of the hospital’s trauma program. Responsibilities include trauma performance improvement, trauma registry oversight, regulatory compliance, and coordination of trauma services activities. The Trauma Program Manager reports to the Trauma Unit Manager for administrative and operational support, while maintaining a direct collaborative reporting relationship with the Trauma Medical Director for trauma program oversight, performance improvement activities, and compliance with American College of Surgeons (ACS) trauma program standards.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, drug test, verification of employment history and education.
Availability: Twenty-four (24) hour responsibility, on-call and call-back may be required.
Certifications: Additional certifications may be required depending on the needs of the department. Active certifications must be maintained throughout employment.
Visa Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess ALL of the following, experience may be concurrent:

LICENSE
Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
NURSING EXPEREINCE
Two (2) years of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse with one (1) year being in a Trauma Unit.
SUPERVISORY/ LEAD EXPEREINCE
OPTION 1:

Six (6) months of experience as a full-scope supervisor or lead/ charge nurse over professional nursing staff.

OPTION 2:

One (1) year of experience as a Relief Charge Nurse or Relief House Supervisor at ARMC

SUBSTITUTION:

Two (2) additional years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Trauma Unit at an acute care hospital may substitute for the required supervisory/ charge nurse experience.

CERTIFICATION/ COURSES
Must Possess And Maintain The Following:
  • Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) OR Advanced Trauma Care Nursing (ATCN)
  • Critical Care Course or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) OR Emergency Room Nursing Course OR Certified Emergency Nurse Specialization (CEN) OR Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN)

Within 6 months of hire:
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification issued by ARMC

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following: Qualified nursing professional with prior supervisory/Charge Nurse experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Two (2) years of trauma-specific Performance Improvement experience, including trauma case reviews, action plan development, and participation in ACS trauma designation surveys and corrective action planning. Demonstrates strong knowledge of trauma registry standards, performance improvement processes, and trauma system requirements. Experienced in coordinating multidisciplinary quality improvement initiatives and collaborating effectively with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams, supported by strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
