Your County employment must be clearly listed in your work history.FUTURE SALARY INCREASESAnnual Across the Board Salary Increases in February 2026*San Bernardino County is recruiting for a Human Services (HS) Administration & Operations Chief to provide high-level strategic and executive administrative support to the Assistant Executive Officer (AEO) of Human Services. The incumbent serves as a trusted advisor and extension of executive leadership, overseeing assigned divisions and strategic functions, coordinating major cross-departmental initiatives, and ensuring compliance with County priorities, Board directives, and State and Federal mandates. The role is responsible for directing significant projects, supporting department directors in the effective delivery of services, and representing Human Services in high-level meetings and external forums.*Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Realignment Sales Tax Collections performance.EXCELLENT BENEFITSTo review job-specific Exempt C level benefits, refer to:The County also offers an alternative Modified Benefits Option (MBO) that provides a wage differential. Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Public/Business Administration, Behavioral/Social Science, Political Science, or another relevant field.
ANDExperience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience in a large public or human services organization, including direct responsibility for policy development, strategic planning, program oversight, or executive-level advising. Desired Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will be a problem solver with a strong customer service focus and exceptional verbal and written communication skills; will have excellent planning and organizing skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments and/or projects; and will be able to work effectively with others, both internally and externally, at various levels in the organization.
Experience in working with elected officials, boards, commissions, and community-based organizations is preferred. Selection Process
