Position: Engineered Wood Products (EWP) Supervisor
Reports to: Finish end Superintendent
Position Overview:
The EWP Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safety, production and quality control of the assigned shift. This role involves supervising a team of manufacturing professionals, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and optimizing production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations, conduct regular safety trainings, and investigate and report on any accidents or safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication channels with other departments and management. Report regularly on production metrics, safety performance, and other relevant KPI’s.
- Supervision: Lead a team of manufacturing professionals, including providing guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations. Foster a safety-first culture.
- Production Oversight: Monitor and ensure the efficient and timely production of engineered wood products.
- Quality Control: Maintain quality control procedures to ensure produced materials meet established standards and customer expectations.
- Inventory Management: Ensure materials are properly tagged and stored. Coordinate with sawmill as raw material inventory is needed.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production.
- Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance and repair of equipment to minimize downtime.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production, quality, and safety.
- Planning: Participate in weekly production planning.
- Team Development: Provide training and development opportunities for the team to improve their skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production leadership role.
- Knowledge of engineered wood products and equipment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Understanding of safety requirements and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in using relevant software for reporting and communication (i.e., MS Office, Outlook)
