Teal Drones, a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings, is looking to fill an immediate position for an experienced Sr. Electronics Repair Technician. Teal is focused on creating world class system solutions serving a broad range of applications for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). We are working to deliver state of the art, high quality, high performance robotic systems to address the growing applications in the drone industry.
The Sr. Electronics Repair Technician is tasked with supporting quality, manufacturing and repair activities, with a focus on repairing and improve existing electronic products. Responsibilities include collaborating with team leads, production supervisors, and engineers to continuously improve processes and product quality. The role requires meeting production goals in a timely, safe, and professional manner.
Responsibilities:
- Support production, manufacturing testing, and engineering repair and prototype tasks.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of electronic assemblies to meet delivery schedules. (Circuit Board Repair – Circuit Analysis – Soldering).
- Assist with the assembly of electronic components, subassemblies, and systems.
- Duties and tasks are standardized but what is performed could vary day to day.
- Perform setup, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, test instruments, and mechanical assemblies. (Schematics – Blueprint Reading).
- Utilize test procedures, drawings, schematics and verbal/written instructions to test, repair, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies.
- Log and provide root cause failure analysis data.
- Maintain test fixturing, perform calibration and conduct preventive maintenance or manufacturing equipment.
- Fully tests electronic units after repair to ensure conformance to Teal specifications for quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in electronics technology field.
- Associate degree in Electronics preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical topics verbally and in writing.
- Capable analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential.
- Ability to work effectively with instructions from engineers or managers.
- Proficiency in soldering stations, and soldering techniques.
- Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot to the component level.
- Knowledge and experience using standard electronics test equipment, such as oscilloscope, digital multimeter and spectrum analyzers, commonly used in manufacturing and repair.
- Experience with RF/wireless systems and lab measurements is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, as required by the duties and responsibilities.
- Adeptness in moving around the office, manufacturing facilities, and other workspaces.
- Proficient use of hands and fingers for tasks such as creating 3D CAD models and drawings.
- Clear vision for precision work and attention to critical dimensions and quality control callouts.
- Ability to actively engage in team discussions, presentations, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
- Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines in laboratory or manufacturing settings.
