About Overwatch Imaging
Founded in 2016 in Hood River, Oregon, Overwatch Imaging builds AI-enabled Smart Sensors and Automated Sensor Operator (ASO) software for time-critical airborne imagery intelligence.
Wildfire is our core market. The U.S. Forest Service, CAL FIRE and agencies from France to Australia fly our sensors to map fires overnight and deliver intel to incident command by morning.

About the Role
The Product Owner – Fire & Mapping reports to the Lead Product Owner and leads a dedicated, cross-functional Fire & Mapping product team. Expanding the civil market is the main focus, achieved through product development for wildfire, commercial services and inspection and product sustainment for existing customers. You will partner closely with the Fire & Mapping Product Director: the Director sets product vision and market strategy, and you turn it into the backlog and delivery. The role has two goals:
- Drive growth through the product. Define and deliver the new features based on market and current customer need, expanding the product along new market verticals, such as tactical fire response, etc.
- Make the product work for existing customers. Support current fire customers from a technical and functional perspective, so our products perform reliably in their missions.

Focus Areas
- Fire mapping and intelligence (our core)
- Tactical fire response and initial attack
- Commercial infrastructure inspection
- Broader mapping: disaster response, damage assessment and other wide-area mapping missions
- Manned and unmanned aviation platforms

What You'll Do
- Be the technical and functional product contact for existing fire customers, and work issues through with engineering and support.
- Turn customer feedback and the Director's strategy into new features, including for tactical fire response.
- Write epics, user stories and acceptance criteria in JIRA.
- Own a prioritized backlog that balances fixes, customer needs and new features.
- Run sprint ceremonies and keep delivery on track.
- Plan releases in sync with the fire season and support release notes, training and documentation.

What Success Looks Like
- Products work reliably for existing customers, and issues are resolved quickly.
- New features ship that customers ask for and that open new fire and mapping markets.
- Engineering has clear requirements and a steady, predictable cadence.
- Releases ship on time for fire season.

What You'll Bring
- 3+ years as a Product Owner, Product Manager or Business Analyst.
- Experience supporting customers on technical products while exploring and delivering new features.
- Strong writing skills, especially user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with complex or hardware-enabled software.
- A practical agile mindset and comfort with ambiguity.
