Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Social Media Manager for the College of Business at Oregon State University (OSU).

The College of Business is seeking a College of Business student to join the student social media team as a part of the Marketing Communications and Events team.
The Social Media Manager, under the direction of the Assistant Director of Marketing, will co-lead the development and implementation of the social media strategy for the OSU College of Business alongside another Social Media Manager. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders within the college to create a comprehensive content calendar that aligns with the goals of stakeholders, the college, and the university.

This job is Hybrid, starts this summer (flexible). Must be Corvallis based (during school year).
Pay rate for this position is $16.05 per hour.

Position Duties
  • With the direction of the Assistant Director of Marketing, develop and execute a strategic social media plan that enhances the college’s brand and outreach.
  • Work with the Assistant Director of Marketing each term to create goals for the social media team and priority social platforms, Instagram and Tiktok.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine their goals and produce a content calendar that supports institutional objectives.
  • Work with the social media team to plan content, filming dates, and posting schedules, updating and tracking progress in Asana.
  • Manage the social media specialists to ensure timely, high-quality content creation and engagement. Ensure deadlines are met, review and suggest edits if needed for all content prior to posting.
  • Stay informed on current trends and best practices in social media to inform strategy and implementation.
  • Oversee and analyze the performance metrics of all social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok and create a recap each term to share with stakeholders.
  • Schedule and post content on social media platforms.
  • Co-lead in-person social media small group meetings
  • Attend weekly meetings (2-3 hours per week).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
