Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Director of Marketing for the Associated Students of Oregon State University (ASOSU) at Oregon State University (OSU).

The ASOSU Director of Marketing serves on the ASOSU President’s Marketing Team to develop marketing materials and marketing plans for various ASOSU campaigns, initiatives, events, and programs with the goal of improving the visibility of ASOSU within the OSU campus and community. This includes supporting the ASOSU President and Vice President in the programming of ASOSU Marketing Team, overseeing all marketing efforts, and working with Executive staff of the ASOSU President’s Marketing Team to distribute materials through the various ASOSU social media platforms and will update and maintain these platforms to cultivate student engagement.
This role will directly supervise the members of the ASOSU Marketing Team.
Given the limited hours and timeline of ASOSU’s advocacy, these responsibilities (including those provided below) may be amended or vary depending on ongoing priorities, needs, or emergent issues and/or circumstances. The ASOSU Director of Marketing will work closely with the ASOSU President and Vice President to fulfill the program needs of the ASOSU Executive Staff.

Position Duties
  • Create and oversee marketing campaigns and initiatives to promote student events, programs, and activities on campus.
  • Develop media to raise public and community stakeholder awareness of activities by the student government.
  • Guide the ASOSU Marketing Team in the creation and distribution of marketing materials;
  • Act as lead consultant for all ASOSU Staff on marketing and promotional materials;
  • Maintain a set timeline for submission and development of all marketing related materials;
  • Utilize digital platforms, including social media, websites, and email marketing to effectively communicate and engage with current and prospective students;
  • Act as lead on managing all forms of ASOSU social media and engagement;
  • Maintain current knowledge of on and off campus resources for marketing and promotion purposes, as well as effective and innovative marketing and design methods, these may include MU Creative Studio, OSU Printing and Mailing, and University Housing and Dining Services;
  • Collaborate with the MU Creative Studio as needed to create graphic materials and promotional videos for ASOSU events and campaigns;
  • Oversee production of marketing materials utilizing software like Adobe Studio, Canva, and other related graphic design tools;
  • Provide guidance to ensure OSU and/or ASOSU brand guidelines are followed;
  • Work in good faith with to extend use of the ASOSU social media accounts to promote events or programs of the Senate, Judicial Council, or Student Fee Committee.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with the Marketing Team;
  • Meet regularly one-on-one with members of the Marketing Team;
  • Provide a report to the ASOSU Senate at least once per term;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the ASOSU President’s Marketing Team in the ASOSU Executive Branch;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.

  • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*.
  • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.
  • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term.
  • Must be a Corvallis campus-based student.
  • Maintenance of good academic and conduct standing and a cumulative and prior term 2.0 GPA.
  • Commitment to promoting and advancing diversity and creating an atmosphere of inclusion for all students and community members.
  • Communication skills in areas including but not limited to interpersonal, public speaking, digital, verbal, and written communications.
  • Organizational skills, including managing time and working accurately with interruptions to meet a deadline; delegating tasks, when applicable.
  • Working well under pressure, exercising flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
  • Willingness to be adaptable, to accept changes and try new things.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Experience or knowledge working with ASOSU, or other organizations focusing on student advocacy, campus involvement, diversity and inclusion, or other related areas.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to delegate tasks.
  • Experience or knowledge in leading and directing individuals.
  • Experience or knowledge with project management and coordinating teams.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
  • Term of Employment: The anticipated start date begins June 15th , 2026, with employment concluding on June 1, 2027.
  • Hours: This position is allotted approximately 24 hours (clocked) per week during the academic year. Some weeks may require additional hours while others require less. Hours must balance out during the pay period and may not exceed 24 hours within a given week per university policy. Additional hours may be available with supervisor approval.
  • Compensation: The compensation for this position is $18.10 an hour.
  • Training: Student employees must satisfy all training requirements as assigned by their supervisor. This includes attendance at the ASOSU Training from September 14-18, 2026.
