Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Support Services for the Student Experience & Engagement Administration at Oregon State University (OSU).

OSUPC strives to create impactful student experiences that connect OSU students with themselves, each other and the community. They achieve this through planning and hosting medium to large campus events that engage the participants, provide opportunities to develop new friendships and help students find and build their community.

The OSUPC Event Operations Assistant is essential for creating a welcoming, engaging and organized environment for event attendees and participants so they can get the most out of their event experience. This position is responsible for working with the OSUPC Leads and Event Assistants to support event day activities to ensure smooth setup, execution, and cleanup. The position requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

OSUPC is looking to hire 20 people for this position. One week prior to event day, OSUPC Event Operations Assistants will have the opportunity to sign up for shifts to help on event days. Here are the OSUPC events for the 2026 academic year:
• Drag Bingo: January 15, 2026
• Casino Night: February 6, 2026
• NW Springfest: May 2, 2026
• DAMJam: May 15, 2026

Position Duties
Event Setup:
  • Assist with arranging tables, chairs, signage and decorations
  • Ensure event spaces are clean, organized, and ready for attendees.
Event Support During Shifts:
  • Provide on-site assistance to OSUPC staff
  • Greet and engage attendees, answer questions, and offer general customer service.
  • Assist with crowd flow and line management, as needed.
  • Monitor, identify and respond to the needs of the attendees
  • Respond to minor issues or escalate concerns to OSUPC leads and/or OSUPC coordinator.
Post-Event Duties:
  • Help with event teardown and clean-up, including removing decorations, tables, chairs, signage
  • Return borrowed items to designated storage areas.
Additional Tasks:
  • Maintain compliance with OSU policies and safety guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
